Megaton Mundial De Polito Vega at the Barclays Center (Part 1)

Enrique Iglesias

Todo mi gente!!

It’s always an eclectic feeling to have different musical cultures come together in one night! Barclays Center was the definitely the perfect venue to blend Latin and R&B genres together at Sunday Night’s Megaton Mundial. The show featured a diverse lineup of popular Latin and contemporary artists including Victor Manuelle, pop entertainer Enrique Iglesias, Dominican heartthrob Prince Royce, and R&B Megastar Chris Brown!
The musical night began with a Bachata twist to Bruno Mars’ Just the Way You Are, sung by K Rose. Shortly afterwards, the legendary Spanish singer-songwriter Victor Manuelle captured the audience with his live instrumentation including horns, congo drums, keyboard and triangle. He had the crowd singing along to Volveras (Come Back)
with its strong horn section along with perfectly blended harmonies.
Victor Manuelle added some salsa to his set with his performance of Ella Lo Que Quiere Salsa (She Wants Salsa). He later paid tribute to his Latin roots with Que Cante Mi Gente (I Sing to My People) In the song, he embraced all Spanish speaking countries and showed the audience some love.

Latin pop sensation Enrique Inglesias began his smashing performance with hits off of his bilingual album, Euphoria. Inglesias riled up the crowd with his worldwide mega smash hit, Tonight (I’m Loving You). The crowd roared with excitement while jumping and waving out of their seats.  Iglesias then performed the dance collabo, No Me Digas Que No (Don’t Tell Me No), where he also collaborated with the reggaeton duo Wisin y Yandel. The track was mainly driven by electric guitars and soft strings. He then performed his acoustic and heartfelt track entitled Cuando Me Enamoro (When I Fall In Love) as all the women in the house became enamored by his lyrics. Check out a quick snippet below:

The entire arena became a pandemonium as Enrique Inglesias transported from the main stage to a more intimate platform. With a charming glance, Enrique hand picked a lucky fan in the audience who turned out to be a viejita (little old lady). He then serenaded her with his platinum-selling hit we all know and love, Hero. The viejita got a chance to be clinched in the singer’s arms while being allured by the Spanish singer.
While Enrique performed his final song, he left a groundbreaking mark as bursts of confetti and EI-initialed balloons filled the arena. Enrique turned the Barclays Center into a fiesta with his hit, I like It, which features Pitbull.
Next on the lineup for the night was the muy caliente heartthrob Prince Royce. The Bronx, NY native began his performance with the romantic Darte Un Beso (Give You A Kiss) and pleased todas las mujeres (all the ladies) with his #1 song which launched his career, Stand By Me.
Later on, Prince Royce sped it up with his Latin dance hit, Ven Conmigo (Come With Me), which also features Daddy Yankee. Royce also soothed the crowd with his biggest chart-topping bachata smash, Corazon sin cara (Heart Without a Face), which was written and composed by the singer.
Stay tuned for the recap of Chris Brown’s performance in my next post!
